So we have been slacking a bit on this blog…but were back and kicking! Alright so there has been a lot happening in the Ipod world…needless to say. The biggest word…TOUCH.

So wow catching up, huh? We know, we know we’re a way late on this one. The iPod touch is a major turning point for Apple’s iPod line. For years technology enthusiasts pondered the possibility of an Apple-made widescreen, WiFi-enabled portable media device, and they finally did just that –Multi-touch Interface, You Tube connectivity, a full fledged web browser. It’s really as if they asked all of us dorks what we wanted with a music play…Cheers Steve.

Philips continues it love affair with the iPod as it released a couple of new iPod music systems and AV Stations. What is unique about Philips is that they have no qualms releasing docking stations which dont support their proprietary GoGear players.

One of the new additions include the BTM-630 music system which is a MP3-CD Player and includes an integrated iPod dock and Bluetooth connectivity. Via the Bluetooth capabilities one can play all their music on the phone. Other features also include; USB port, SD/MMC slot and the ability to burn MP3 and WMA files to CD from USB drives and memory cards.Those looking for something simpler can also take a look at the $199-suggested BTM-628 which is almost identical to the 630 barring the CD Burning capabilities.

Another sweet product to be launched by Philips is the the $399-suggested DCD-778 with support for iPod Videos,DVD player, QUAM/ATSC TV tuner, 8.5-inch LCD screen, iPod dock and an AM/FM tuner.

Creativity knows no bounds when it comes to technology and as an Apple fangirl, I love when individuals make an effort to break from the mundane! Case in point this iPod Laptop (yes folks that is not a typo) that is just not a pretty package. This novel device actually runs Linux but how you will actually use it remains a big question. The iPod Laptop may not replace the Macbook but kudos to the creator for going where no man has gone before!

Apple today released a brand new game for the iPod, which can be purchased directly on the iTunes store. The iQuiz is for all the geniuses out there (like moi!) and comes loaded with four question packs: TV Show Trivia, Music Trivia, Movie Trivia, and Music Quiz. One can test their grey cells for ages and can also have some fun by answering a series of multiple-choice or true-false questions.

If you are also the in house trivia expert then you can also create quizzes courtesy Aspyr Media’s iQuiz Maker which is a free utility can be downloaded from the Apple webpage. The iQuiz is now available and check out the product page for more info.

A Robot, which dances to your iPod tunes, is no longer just a distant dream. Check out the Tokyo-based venture ZMP Inc’s 14-inch long Miuro robot, which is being demonstrated in Tokyo currently. The new version has a software based on what chaotic itinerancy, a mathematical pattern similar to the movements of a bee circling from flower to flower.

This will help in making the robot unpredictable when it comes to movements and would be akin to “a child playing,” said Tokyo University researcher Takashi Ikegami, who developed the software.
