More Nike+ iPod Integration to Come

Nike+ Sensor To Be Embedded In All Running Shoes

Nike President and CEO Mark Parker announced last week that all Nike running shoes will have Nike+iPod integration by the end of 2007. Nike+iPod has been wildly popular with runners since it’s introduction in May of 2006.

Nike+ is a sensor embedded within the shoes measuring data such as distance traveled and how many calories have been burned. Users can then control the track, volume and other playback settings via their iPod Nano with specialized software announcing significant points such as milestones achieved throughout their workout. The sort of technology is certainly convienent for runners and other athletes, especially those who have traditional had to have multiple devices with them in order to track these sorts of milestones.
